    while I do love college sports and march madness is a really fun time, I must say that I am very disapointed with it. the NCAA has whored it out so much that it seems like I spend more time watching commercials than I do actual game. In fact, I think the last 4 minutes of the Memphis game last nite took at least 20. It has just gotten to be rediculous. i miss the amatuer part of college basketball

    I am always excited about this time of year and March Madnesss.  I sit at home, stay away from the wife and kids, and plop myself in front of the TV to see the last real competitive tournament.  These college kids play their hearts out for their alma mater and I love it.  I think Louisville will win it this year, but don't count out North Carolina....

    I agree with you.  Tough year on MLS but not just what is happening with other leagues overseas, I think that WC qualifiers, gold cup, confederations cup, etc will pull a lot of the prominent players away from MLS games, meaning the level will drop a lot and the product on the field won't be as good.  Also, crucial year, as the MLS players union starts negotiations with MLS on a new collective bargaining agreement.  Stay tuned.

The Boston Blazers defeated the San Jose Stealth, 16-10, at TD Banknorth Garden on Saturday. San Jose led 4-2 after the first quarter, but Boston controlled the game the rest of the way, cruising to their seventh win of the season. Dan Dawson led the Blazers with four goals and five assists, while Matt Lyons and Brenden Thenhaus each scored three goals and three assists. Daryl Veltman scored two goals and five assists, while four others added singles. Anthony Cosmo made 26 saves in the win. Cam Sedgwick., Jeff Zywicki, Tom Johnson and Colin Doyle each scored twice for San Jose. Matt Roik was credited the loss in goal.

Rochester's Shawn Evans has been named Overall and Offensive Player of the Week. Evans was the undisputed star in Rochester's third win of the season, an 18-10 victory against Toronto at Blue Cross Arena on Saturday. He led all scorers with seven goals and seven assists. His 11 loose balls were also tied for the most in the game.

Philadelphia Wings all-star Geoff Snider suffered a fractured trachea against Edmonton. He finished the game, but had difficulty breathing when a team flight landed in Portland. He was hospitalized for two days and is out indefinitely.
