My Favorite Sports Moments

I would have to say that this took place my junior year of College when we played at home vs. Penn State.  We had our largest crowd in Iillinois Soccer History (around 3,000) and we're ranked 13th, they were 8th.  Anyways after the first half we found ourselves down 2 to 0 however we came back to win 3 to 2.  Hands down that was the most exciting game and the one that meant the most to me yet.

"Humble & Hungry"

-But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of ALL things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith— Philippians 3:7-9

Ella- great blog.  Thanks for taking the time to share insights about your training.  The details about your practice- the unique hurdles you had this week between weather and new training techniques.  It was refreshing to see that even Professional Athletes such as yourself, have new challenges to face, but that you handled it with

GRACE  and HUMOR and a GOOD ATTITUDE

You chose to see the positives of each encounter and learn something from each situation and become better from it.

That is the mark of a winner; regardless if you really "won" the game or not.

    You DID win.

    Kelly

p.s. love the story about volunteering and Ruth and the sing-along, those are some of life's most precious moments and I appreciate you sharing with us!

I hope that with our two games last week being televised, you all would agree that WE ARE BACK !!!! At the beginning of May we found ourselves being excited to have most of our games at home but then quickly realized that home or away is not much of a difference. What I mean by this is that out of our 9 games our 3 losses have been on our home turf. That also shows that we still remain u...

With giving my speech I have realized that my journey has been one of bumps and bruises.  As we face 3 losses in a row, the bumps seem higher than ever.  We have had the meetings, discussed it as a team, and have tried to find the answers but it just seems something is missing.   I think the hardest thing is the process of all of us not knowing exactly what our club stands for.&nbs...

Well let’s just get the elephant out of the room; we lost.  After 5 games into the season, 3 wins and 2 ties, we lost to New Jersey.  To Sky Blues credit they came out ready to play.  I mean if anyone watched the game I think they would agree that they looked like they wanted it more.   I also am the last person that will make up an excuse about losing bu...

“As all of you are well aware we do not have a game this weekend, but you can bet your butts (Emma could of used a slightly different word here) we will use this week to become more fit.  I am being upfront and honest with you by telling you to expect to be tired heading into this weekend’s scrimmage.” Emma Hayes Now these might not of been her exact words, howe...
