Let me make something very clear, I am NOT a fighter.  I am a business man who is damn good at fighting so to keep me active, I fight.  It is the perfect replacement for all my aggression that I had no outlet for once I finished playing ball.  That's probably the most difficult thing...learning to adapt to controling your aggression in a non physical fashion.  Some people can do it through sales, some through drugs and alcohol.  Me, I do it through training and fighting.

I always answer the question of do you miss the NFL now that you're done with a simple answer: NO.  The NFL was incredibly stressful to me and it paid me some money but the stress and lifestyle were quite overwhelming.  With fighting, I dont have to think about losing my job every single day, not having money to pay bills if I get cut and draggin my family around from team to team.  What I do miss though is the belonging to something greater than yourself..the sense of TEAM.

I grew up fighting in the neighborhood and I won a whole bunch and lost plenty.  I guess that made me be able to give and take a whoopin but it also allowed to me test myself in different ways.  To me, Fighting has always been more mental than physical.  I believe that the fight really is won or lost before it ever happens. Now I train everyday with ther likes of Chris Lytle, Jake O'brien and Dan Christianson.  They have accepted me into their camp as one of them and I give them everything I have every time I go into the gym

I started training for MMA after a good friend of mine (soon to be a member of Fanfuego) decided to put on a fight in our hometown of Springfield, Il shortly after his team won the World Series last year.  He asked me to fight on his card and as a friend I agreed.  That was the beginning.

I have had a handful of fights to date and won them all by knockout fairly quickly (40 & 71 seconds, respectively)   I really enjoy the team mentality and having other people rely on me.  It feels good to be part of something again.

Hope this hasnt been too boring of a read for who ever takes the time to read it! Remember my name...you might be hearing it soon in referece to the UFC someday soon!
